River Island loves Australia

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the official launch of UK chain store River Island Australia, held at Rose Bay's The Sailor's Club - it was an intimate affair with select bloggers, the River Island team and the lovely team from The Arc Factory.  Since I decided to casually catch the ferry over to Rose Bay - I could see The Sailor's Club from a mile away and as I slowly walked closer I had to stop myself from running over and squealing with delight!  Florals, lace, monochrome and 1920's Gatsby inspired pieces are just some of the trends you can expect - all live online.  
Over the long weekend they had a sweet freeshipping promotion to Australia - so I took up their offer and bought a couple cute pieces from the online store:


Apparently it should only take 5 working days to get to Australia which sounds fantastic - I'll definitely let you know if it lives up to its promise! Hopefully the rain will clear up soon as I have a lot of pieces to shoot and can't wait to show them to you - I know its been a while since I've posted any outfit posts and I apologise.  Don't forget to check out my online store as I'm selling heaps of clothes from my wardrobe ; all proceeds will help fund my trip to USA and Japan in September and October later this year.

Stolen Girlfriends Club: Nasty Goreng Spring '13

As many of you might have already realised from reading my blog, you'll know that I'm a huge fangirl of New Zealand label Stolen Girlfriends Club - the clothes are laid back yet has that effortless model off duty grunge element that makes you look badass all the while looking fabulous. 

Meet SGC Nasty Goreng Spring '13 collection which explores the seedy intrigue of a downtown East meets West. With a mix of worn fatigues and kitsch satin, they present an eclectic collection that’s both witty and wearable and features their most daring colour palette to date.  The range features an ornate signature print of flower bombs and death moths, set against aqua-mint or black and used in sandwashed silk dresses and blouses.  Of course I'm lusting between the cute lilac leopard print pieces vs classic chic black leopard along with their killer STOLEN jumpers and muscle tanks which I know are gonna be a sell out.  Other key picks for me are their flower bomb/death moths black print pieces and their edgy neopreen dress.  I definitely can't wait to see these bad boys in person when I fly over for NZFW in September!

INDER DHILLON Pretty Tomboy SS'13

One of my favourite collections from this year's MBFWA The Innovators show, Inder Dhillon is the one to watch.  Inder Dhillon's debut collection under her namesake label titled Pretty Tomboy SS'13 is a rich collection of fluidly tailored separates merged with more structural silhouettes such as bodices, fitted wrap skirts and peplum shorts, whilst the dresses in the collection infuse an extra element of edgy elegance with their feminine silhouettes and ornate embellishments.  The collection comprises of fuschia, plum and maroon tones neutralised by silver and black to create a strong high street cohesive collection that successfully highlights and accentuates the female form.  

I'm excited to shoot some of my favourite pieces from the range over the next couple of weeks and have some amazing new outfit posts coming up! Sorry for the lack of outfit posts - a combination of rainy weather and preparing for job interviews has pushed by outfit post shoots to the back of my to do list but have no fear, I'll be shooting this Thursday so stay tuned to my Instagram for some behind the scenes shots from the shoot!

Melissa CINE Launch

Last Friday I had the pleasure of attending the new CINE AW '13 collection launch by plastic vegan shoe giant Melissa Shoes at their M Dreams Sydney store.  The story itself smells exactly like the shoes - delicious candy sweetness with heels, boots and flats lined from every wall.  I immediately got pulled into the hypnotic sparkle of the new J. Maskrey x Melissa flats.  Encrusted with Swarovski crystals, they come in two versions: a normal jelly flat or jelly sandal - I prefer the latter.  Definitely a shoe I'm putting on my wishlist, I decided to choose the deliciously feminine Jason Wu x Melissa lace 'ultragirl' flats for practicality, wearability and aesthetic chicness. 

I also particularly loved their Spikes heel which not only are incredibly comfortable to wear (as all of their shoes are) but are so sexy and chic! If you haven't popped into the store yet, you must check it out if only to try on a few shoes and be surrounded by candy.

The last few days have been quite nerveracking and busy for me - going for job interviews and writing tests for a potential new job and I think in compensation for the stress and jitters I've been online window shopping a bit more than usual as of late.
I've been needing a new swimsuit for some time now - true I'm not really a huge fan of swimming but I do love the occasion dip; I've been eyeing this cute Wildfox floral ruffle one piece for some time now and finally went ahead and purchased it along with a few other floral and everyday dresses to add to my wardrobe.  

For any long time readers of my blog or even recent ones will know of my obsession and love for anything floral, these include and are not limited to: fresh flowers (particularly peonies, roses, carnations, wildflowers), rococo/floral paintings, floral headpieces, dresses, skirts and rose tattoos. And a happy mother's day to all mums of the world - I made dinner and dessert for Mother Unicorn and treated Mama Unicorn and myself a spa treatment!
